I am running OS X 10.7.3 on my 2006 MBP with the latest 2.0.1 32/64 bit version of VLC (but I should add this behaviour has been happening with previous versions).
When I try and run VLC, the icon appears on the dock and starts bouncing but nothing happens. Eventually the icon just stops bouncing and sits in the dock. That's it, no message that it's crashed or anything else. I've tried trashing preferences, caches, everything I can think of but nothing has changed this. Can anything think of anything I can try to fix this problem, or at least to help diagnose what exactly is going on? I have an iMac that has virtually identical spec to my MBP and VLC works perfectly.
